weird day
Baby girl woke me up around 4, 4:30 when she crawled into bed and wiggled around a little and made kind of a horrible noise? like trying to clear phlegm out of her throat - I thought at first she might be gagging, about to throw up, but it kept happening and sounded more like a weird cough. Around 4:45 we got up to go to her room especially for her water bottle, and then at like 6:30 when she wanted to play roblox on my phone, I decided I would try and lay in my bed, maybe even nap until husband's alarm went off at 7. So I got a power nap, convinced third child to go to school by agreeing to pick her up early, offered to pick up oldest early since she currently hates the last hour of school, and since second child didn't want to leave early, I agreed to drive them to school in the morning. So I did the driving, I also started a load of blankets in the wash (they had been washed a few days before but the load was so big they never fully dried and smelled bad). Aaaand during lunch my baby threw up. Glad I let her stay home, even though after that first hour she generally stopped making the horrible noise! She only threw up water, which was... nice?... but also hard to clean properly since I couldn't see exactly where she actually was sick. Mostly it was right on the wood floor, so not bad as far as throw up goes. Poor thing.
I did the second load of blankets and defrosted and air fryed two packages of chicken thighs for dinner, and as I was finishing up the seasoning on the second, I got soooo physically exhausted. I could barely think. I believe dinner helped a little, so I was able to do a few other things, like get a swimsuit off my youngest and find her socks. But I am really really ready for bed. Hopefully tomorrow isn't worse... sometimes when I'm real sleep deprived, the first day is kind of okay and the second day is terrible. Husband ended up going to do the grocery pickup and (shortened) costco run, because he said future me would be grateful, so reflecting on how tomorrow might be worse... he's probably right. Even though he got the probably very expensive organic strawberries. He doesn't really look at the price, especially if it's on the list. Once he got me a name brand organic heavy whipping cream and like... I can always put off a recipe long enough to pay half the price for an ingredient. But I am glad he does it.
Okay here's hoping little baby girl (who I don't think has had a power nap today) will actually go upstairs to bed with me. I'm sooo ready for sleep. Or, you know, being horizontal.
