Friday was Pizza Day

 Funny story? Kids asked me to make brownies yesterday, and I remember having unsweetened chocolate so I was thinking about making a family recipe I hadn't made for a while. Exciting! Except I couldn't actually find the chocolate, so I thought I could try and use cocoa, only my kids weren't super into my cocoa recipe. No box mix though, so I looked up a box mix imitation recipe (only I guess I searched poorly since I kept getting posts on how to make box mix brownies taste better) - and THEN I doubled the recipe since I didn't want to try and find my 9x9 pan. Only I didn't have enough cocoa for a double recipe! I ended up going to the store, and thankfully I bought cocoa AND a box mix of brownies, because the recipe was a dud 😢 Or I messed it up, which is entirely possible. 

And then I ended up going back to the store at 5:30 to pick up frozen pizzas for dinner... yay. But yum, frozen pizzas! The brownies aren't the worst thing I've ever put in my mouth I guess. 

I've been busy today, and I'm tired. 

Oh. Right. Kind of forgot, I woke up to the news that my mom broke her arm yesterday. Her stroke-dead arm, so, pros and cons I guess, but UGH it's just terrible. I was hoping to visit  her tomorrow but we're going to try another time. It makes tomorrow a little less hectic but I'm still sad about it. I haven't visited her in forever and, did I mention she has breast cancer? She has surgery coming up pretty soon and she's feeling her mortality so she wants us to visit just in case.... Sigh.
